RoboSapiens

Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU

The main contribution of NTNU to the RoboSAPIENS project will be to provide the use case “autonomous ship motion prediction” and solve it using technologies and tools developed by RoboSAPIENS partners.

  • Lead in Work Package 4 – Industrial Case Studies

NTNU team has been working on how to use Deep Learning, Digital Twin and co-simulation for state estimation, automation and optimisation for ship systems.

It will contribute to the design of dynamics-driven system monitoring and uncertainty assessment, and how these models can be instantiated following the application domain.

Moreover, NTNU will take the asset of Gunnerus research ship and the corresponding professional simulator in Intelligent Systems Lab and contribute to developing the core knowledge-driven models integration for behavior prediction under robot and environment changes and customize an implementation for the ship motion prediction case study, thus providing a solid ground for the outreach to industrial/commercial collaborators.
